Deutschlandcup 2014 - Deutschland verliert zum Abschluss gegen Kanada
(Deutschlandcup) Im letzten Spiel traf die Deutsche Eishockey Nationalmannschaft, die bereits seit gestern als Deutschlandcup Sieger 2014 festand auf den Turnierletzten aus Kanada. Die Kanadier zeigten ihr bestes Turnierspiel und drehten einen 0:2 Rückstand in einen 4:2 Erfolg.
Das heutige Spiel gegen Kanada, welches mit über 13 DEL Spielern angereist war, stand unter besonderen Vorzeichen, da es für einige Mannschaftskammeraden auf beiden Seiten ganz klar um eine Prestigesache ging. Von Anfang an war den Kanadier anzusehen, dass sie sich nicht mit 0 Punkte aus dem Turnier verabschieden wollen.

Gerade in den ersten acht Minuten sprach das Schussverhältnis klar für die weiss-roten, jedoch fiel der erste Treffer für Deutschland durch Dennis Reul mit seinem ersten Tor im DEB Trikot in der 13. Minute durch einen verdeckten Schuss von der blauen Linie. Kurz darauf mussten zwei Kanadier auf der Strafbank Platz nehmen und Deutschland agierte mit doppelter Überzahl und konnte eine Chance durch Patrick Hager in der 17. Minute zum 2:0 nutzen.
Das Spiel entwickelte sich im Mittelabschnitt zu einem offenen Schlagabtausch mit einigen guten Chancen auf beiden Seiten. Aber der 30. Minute stand dann erneut Timo Pielmeier für Dennis Endraß im deutschen Tor, so war es bereits vor der Begegnung vereinbart worden. Timo Pielmeier konnte sich auch gleich auszeichnen. In der 36. Minute nutzten die Kanadier einen Gegenstoß durch einen der Topscorer der DEL Kevin Clark zum 1:2 Anschlussteffer.
Kurz vor dem Ende des Drittels musste Florian Kettemer in die Kühlbox und die Ahornblätter nutzten dieses Powerplay zum 2:2 Ausgleich durch Bud Holloway.
Auch im Schlussdrittel waren die Kanadier die spielbestimmende Mannschaft und ließen nicht mehr viele Chancen des DEB Teams zu. Steven Reinprecht drehte im letzten Drittel in der 54. Minute durch einen Schlagschuss im Powerplay die Partie und erzielte für das Team Kanada das 3:2. Pat Cortina nahm eine Minute vor dem Ende eine Auszeit und Pielmeier vom Eis, doch die Schlussoffensive blieb leider erfolglos und so konnte Kevin Clark zum 4:2 ins leere Tor treffen.
Mit diesem Sieg verabschiedet sich Kanada mit einem Sieg aus drei Spielen und die Deutsche Eishockey Nationalmannschaft gewinnt zum 6 Mal den Deutschlandcup.
