Deutschland verliert zum Abschluss gegen Kanada

DC16 DEBvsCAN 101(Deutschlandcup 2016) (CD) Die deutsche Eishockey Nationalmannschaft konnte im letzten Spiel gegen eine starke kanadische Mannschaft nicht viel ausrichten und verlor mit 1:3 und belegte damit den 3. Platz beim 27. Deutschlandcup 2016 in Augsburg.


Marco Sturm musste auf die verletzten Spieler Yasin Ehliz und Felix Schütz verzichten, dafür stand im letzten Spiel mit Torhüter Niklas Treutle (Krefeld) ein weiterer Debütant auf dem Eis.

 

 

Kanada stand von Beginn an kompakt und spielte sehr  effektiv nach vorne, brauchte sehr wenig Chancen und so stand es nach zwanzig Minuten bereits 0:3 aus Sicht von der deutschen Auswahl. Kevin Clark traf zwei Mal (05./19.) sowie Derek Roy (18.). Das 2:0 und 3:0 fiel innerhalb von weniger als 40 Sekunden. Die besten Chancen für Deutschland hatten Thomas Oppenheimer mit einem harten Schuss und der Kapitän Kai Hospelt mit einem Rückhandschlenzer, bei beiden war der kanadische Torhüter auf dem Posten. Mit diesem ernüchternden Ergebnis ging es dann in die Kabine.

 

 





Auch im Mittelabschnitt bestimmten die Ahornblätter weitgehend das Geschehen auf dem Eis, waren meist einen Schritt schneller oder ein Pucklänge voraus. Niklas Treutle konnte sich einige Male hervorragend auszeichnen. Das Schuss- und Chancenverhältnis sprach ganz klare Töne für die Kanadier.

Das Auftreten der deutschen Mannschaft war im letzten Drittel um einiges besser, aggressiver als die zwei Drittel zuvor und so ergaben sich einige gute Torchancen.

Eine davon nutzte Thomas Greilinger (46.) zum 1:3 Anschlusstreffer. Kurz darauf hätte es beinahe nochmals im kanadischen Gehäuse eingeschlagen als ein Querpass nicht den Abnehmer fand. Sinan Akdag hatte in der 55. Minute bei einem Lattentreffer noch mehr Pech, zu diesem Zeitpunkt wäre dies verdient gewesen. Marco Sturm nahm vor dem Ende noch Niklas Treutle vom Eis und griff nochmals mit 6 Mann an doch es sollte bei der 1:3 Niederlage bleiben.
