Marco Sturm nominiert Marcel Brandt - David Wolf muss absagen
(Deutschlandcup 2016) Nach Thomas Holzmann (Augsburger Panther) hat Bundestrainer Marco Sturm auch den Düsseldorfer Marcel Brandt für den anstehenden Deutschland Cup (4. – 6. November) in Augsburg nominiert.
„Marcel Brandt war bei der WM-Vorbereitung schon dabei und hat dort ordentliche Leistungen gezeigt. Er soll jetzt beim Deutschland Cup den nächsten Schritt machen“, erklärte der Bundestrainer, dessen Kader nun drei Torhüter, neun Verteidiger und 15 Stürmer umfasst.
Dagegen wird David Wolf (Adler Mannheim) der Nationalmannschaft nicht zur Verfügung stehen. Der Angreifer hatte Sturm bereits vor dem Wochenende mitgeteilt, dass er wegen leichter Blessuren auf die Teilnahme am Deutschland Cup verzichten muss.
Am Dienstag trifft sich die Nationalmannschaft erstmals in Augsburg. Die Verteidiger Justin Krueger (SC Bern) sowie Jonas Müller (Eisbären Berlin) werden erst am Mittwochabend erwartet, da sie mit ihren jeweiligen Mannschaften noch in der Champions Hockey League (CHL) aktiv sind.
