Deutschlandcup 2015 - USA schlägt die Slowakei knapp mit 1:0
(Deutschlandcup 2015) Der 26. Deutschlandcup findet in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal in Augsburg statt. Beim Eröffnungsspiel am heutigen Nachmittag im Curt-Frenzel-Stadion traf der Titelverteidiger aus dem Jahr 2012 die USA auf den Stammgast des Turniers die Slowakei.
Nach einem amüsanten ersten Eröffnungsspiel konnte sich die USA mit einem knappen 1:0 erfolgreich durchsetzen. Das Siegtor auf Seiten der US Boys erzielte der Augsburger Stürmer Ben Hanowski. Im ersten Drittel gab es ein ausgeglichenes Schuss- und Chancenverhältnis und noch keine Überlegenheit der beiden Teams, so ging es recht unspektakulär torlos in die erste Drittelpause.

Im zweiten Drittel nahm das Spiel dann mehr Fahrt auf und es kam zu einigen guten Chancen vorallem in Überzahl für die Slowakei. Nach einem Pfostenschuss der Slowaken in der 23. Minute, konnte der Stürmer der Augsburger Panther (DEL) Ben Hanowski im direkten Gegenzug einen Konter für die USA zur 1:0 Führung erfolgreich abschliessen. Trotz der Führung im Rücken wurden die US Boys von den Slowaken immer mehr unter Druck gesetzt und Ryan Zapolski im Tor der Amerikaner konnte sich mehrfach auszeichnen.
Zum letzten Drittel füllte sich die Halle immer mehr und auch das Geschehen auf dem Eis gewann an Spannung und guten Torchanchen. Durch eine gute Abwehrleistung der Amerikaner konnte die knappe Führung über die Zeit gebracht und damit die ersten drei Punkte gewonnen werden.
