Team Kanada gewinnt erstes Match beim Deutschlandcup 2016 gegen die Schweiz

DC16 CANvsSUI 054(Deutschlandcup 2016) (CD) Der Deutschlandcup wird zum 27. Mal seit der Gründung im Jahr 1987 durch den DEB ausgetragen und fand zum zweiten Mal nach 2015 im Curt-Frenzel-Stadion in Augsburg statt. Im Eröffnungsspiel trafen sich die Kanadier und die Schweizer. In einem eng geführten Spiel gingen die Ahornblätter mit 3:0 als Sieger vom Eis.

 

 

Die Eidgenossen aus der Schweiz sind mit einem starken Kader wie schon lange nicht mehr angereist, von der letzten Weltmeisterschaft waren ingesamt 12 Spieler mit von der Partie. Team Kanada, die das Turnier bereits vier Mal gewinnen konnten boten 5 DEL Akteure und den Rest aus Finnland, Schweden und der KHL auf. Unter den DEL Akteuren sind auch drei alte Bekannte Gesichter zu finden, Barry Brust (Goalie, Straubing), Chris Lee (Adler Mannheim) und Kevin Clark (Hamburg Freezers).

Beide Teams schenkten sich nichts und so wurde die Partie spannend und eng mit Chancen auf beiden Seiten geführt. Die Kanadier konnten im ersten Drittel eine Überzahlsituation zur 1:0 Führung nutzen und im zweiten Drittel durch Geoff Kinrade das 2:0 erzielen. Von Seiten der Schweizer gab es kaum zwingende Torszenen und so lief die Uhr für die Kanadier runter.

 



 

Im letzten Drittel drückten die Schweizer auf das kanadische Tor, doch kamen nicht zum Erfolg. Kurz vor dem Ende nahme n die Schweizer eine Auszeit und den Goalie vom Eis um mit einem sechsten Feldspieler nochmal heranzukommen, doch auch dieser Versuch war heute nicht von Erfolg gekrönt im Gegenteil eine Minute vor dem Ende trafen die Ahornblätter das leere Tor zum 3:0 Endstand.
